Are Teen Entrepreneurs Discriminated Against?

Being a teen entrepreneur, my credentials are always questioned. In society, there's a preconceived notion that age and success are dependent on each other, but teenagers have proven that not to be the case. I remember when I landed my first client like it was yesterday. He was a young athlete on the New York Giants and when he saw me, he saw someone determined to make the client more successful, not just a 16-year-old teen. That's why we had success working together. Age is but a number, it's the credentials, skillset, and determination that counts.

People need to look at the credentials of the person, independently from age, in order to ensure success. In fact, I venture to say that determining that one can't get a job done due to age is a form of discrimination. When I was 13-years-old, walking into major meetings, I always felt like there was a chip on my shoulder to impress. In hindsight, there certainly was and there should have been, but as soon as I started college at 14, I feel like that chip should've disappeared.

I write this to raise a single point: many teen entrepreneurs are competent and qualified. Therefore, they shouldn't be discredited off the bat. I hope to take you all on a journey with this blog. The journey of the teenage entrepreneur.
